Site builders biography
this page offers some background about me and Eyesite - and yes, the spelling is deliberate and relates to "eyesight" and "website". Born in Glasgow at the tender age of 0, I brought my folks to Australia when I was about 5 years old as a cold-weather refugee. After studying computer science at Adelaide University, I returned to Scotland and completed a PhD in Computing Science from Edinburgh University. Looking back at this, the interesting point of my studies was exploring the man/machine symbiotic working relationship. It was a fundamental feature to discern what functions each performed well and woefully and to create an interface which allowed both to do what they were best at while communicating the results to the other in an intelligible form. This work today relates more to CyberSayer than eyesite. Once again the climate drove me back to sunnier climes and I returned to Australia to exploit my new qualifications. I spent some time in Melbourne developing a national on-line housing design facility for the building industry. Melbourne's weather in winter is not dissimilar to Scotland's and so I headed north to Queensland following the sun. I spent several years running the technical side of the Queensland Government Computer Centre - again introducing state-wide networks for various state departments. Fortune blessed me with 2 children and, concerned at the values they were acquiring in the urban environment, I elected to move to the country with my family. My work with computers was severely reduced but I became increasingly involved with studies involving mind/body/behaviour mechanisms. Part of these studies included Rayid - a profound and revolutionary iris interpretation model developed by Denny Johnson. I was invited to develop the Behavioral Therapies course for the Australian Academy of Natural Therapies. A significant part of this course was a presentation of the Rayid Model and it's effectiveness as a model for understanding human behaviour. I am now living in a railway carriage overlooking a magnificent bird-encrusted lake near Maleny in SE Queensland. Besides counselling and consulting, I remain active in software creation and am currently rebuilding CyberSayer a computer-based vehicle for promoting individual awareness and empowerment. And I'd love to hear about you too ! - Thanks for sharing a glimpse of my background - Have a lovely day and a better tomorrow ! Fergus Want to know more?
