Vitamin and Mineral fact sheets

Prolonged intensive agriculture using artificial and chemical fertilization, plant breeding and genetic engineering all manipulate natural food production for profit. A side-effect of this is that the nutrient value of the foodstuffs is very low on priority list and we are seeing decreasing levels of health-sustaining minerals and vitamins in modern "foodstuffs".

That is why we regard the "weeds" as the richest sources of nutrients: their very robustness, vitality and widespread distribution are all qualities which are disappearing from our agricultural food supplies and society.

However we are also very aware that weeds are challenging to recognise for those unused to gerdening and for many city-dwellers, they can be hard to find, even if you do know what you are looking for.

So we have put together 2 factsheets which outline the basic set of vitamins and minerals needed to maintain a healthy body. The sheets include a brief description of the roles played by the various items in the body's health, common plant and other sources.

They are designed for printing in black and white and are free for personal use. If you want to use them for other purposes - please email us to discuss it.

We also recommend these fact sheets from other sources:-
